The Notepad is me, Adrian Jackson. Based in Harrogate, I'm a freelance copywriter with over 15 years' experience creating and managing marketing campaigns for major fashion, finance, and travel companies.
Nothing excites me more than learning the story of a business like yours and finding the best way to tell it. I've written clear, engaging copy for big brands, start-ups and public sector organisations, both here in the UK and in the US.

I’ve been working with Parkdean Resorts for over 5 years. The very first job provided me with a fantastic challenge - write 100 words for 600 UK attractions in just 6 weeks! Since that first success, I’ve written all kinds of copy for them, everything from web product pages, to travel blogs, emails, DM, owner letters, press releases, and internal comms. Even conference speeches! I’ve also created copy for their sister brand Lodges.co.uk, which requires a more elevated tone of voice.

PET HEALTH & MEDICAL CARE
I’ve written over 50 health articles for Royal Canin UK and USA, covering topics like dermatitis, kidney disease, and socialization. I even wrote 5 pieces about cat pee! While it’s lovely to write about animals, pet owners need clear advice when their family member is sick. The copy has to be simple, sensitive, and straight to the point. The work is complex and involves distilling down veterinary journals and texts. Professional sign-off is vital in such a highly regulated sector.

TRAVEL TIPS & TAXATION
My work with cottages.com began with me pretending to be a dog! Since that first copywriting job, I’ve written travel guides promoting everything from stargazing and sand sculptures to microadventures. Holiday home ownership is surprisingly complicated, and so I was tasked with simplifying the company’s guidelines to property taxation, insurance, home improvements, renovations, and property earnings. I also created email and DM content to boost recruitment.
